If My Name Was Fashion: Rihanna Interviews with Glamour Magazine

"Princess Diana was gangsta with her clothes. She had these crazy hats, oversize jackets. I loved everything she wore."  -Rihanna, Glamour Magazine

In a recent interview with Glamour Magazine, Rihanna discussed her admiration for fashion, where her fashion inspiration sprung from, working in her aunts clothing store growing up, her show Styled to Rock, her amazing stylist Mel Ottenberg, Rihanna for River Island Collection, her new MAC Cosmetics line, and her four fragrances.

In this photo: Rihanna wears a bodysuit by Dior, hoop earrings by Kenneth Jay Lane, bracelet cuffs by Lynn Ban, and rings by Neil Lane.

"My love for fashion- let me say, my admiration for fashion started with my mom. I used to watch her get dressed. She was around my age right now, and she was so fly. So fly. I remember not even knowing how to do that because I was such a tomboy."

As we see in magazines and paparazzi photos, Rihanna's personal style does include a tomboy swag which is copied and re-interpreted by other celebrities worldwide. Her tomboy swag is her signature and goes well with her bad gal image and music. It is her, she is real, and that is why we love her.

In the photos for the interview spread, Rihanna wears Chanel, Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs, Neil Lane, Lynn Ban, Mui Mui, Balmain, and Michael Kors as she models with Barbados in the background. Her hair is styled in a cute curly cut that fits her face perfectly.

In this photo: Rihanna wears Marc Jacobs coat, bra, and briefs, Chanel pearl necklace, pearl cuffs by Lynn Ban, Neil Lane rings, and Rene Caovilla sandals.

The experience of Rihanna working in her Aunts clothing store left her feeling happy to see customers leave with an item they bought.

"I would see how good it made people feel to walk out with something that they thought they looked good in. Then I started to wear the clothes-- jeans with flared bottoms and all these matching suits. I know. Horrible."

Rihanna may think that was horrible, but we, as fans and fashion junkie that find her inspiring thank her for finding her niche when it comes to dressing and style.

We love Rihanna and her fashion uniqueness.
